How we source and verify every listing
Where listings come from
We ingest published events from ticketing platforms, venue calendars, and official municipal, tourism, park, and library calendars. Every listing keeps the source it came from, and every source is linked on the event page so you can confirm details first-hand.
How each listing is verified
Before an event is published we check that it has a real title, a resolved start, and a venue or address we can place on a map. When the source publishes no start time we print "Time not listed", and when it publishes no price we link to the official page. We never invent a time, a price, or a description.
Deduplication
The same show is often listed by several platforms with different titles. We merge those records into a single listing and say on the event page how many independent sources were merged. Separate performances of the same run keep their own page and their own start time — two different showtimes are never collapsed into one.
Locality accuracy
Each event is placed using coordinates derived from its own venue, address, city, state, and ZIP — never from the coordinates of whoever is searching. A city page only lists events that fall inside that city and radius, so a Richmond page can never be padded with events from an unrelated metro.
Categories
Source category labels are inconsistent, so each event is mapped onto one canonical category that is used identically in the page you read and in the structured data crawlers read. Where our label differs from the source label, both are shown.
Corrections
If a time, price, venue, category, or duplicate looks wrong, report it and we re-check the source and correct or remove the listing. Read the full editorial policy for how sourcing, confidence, and removals are handled.
